19.05.2003 - In 1998, MAN Turbo received an order for the supply of an axial compressor for an FCC plant in Turkmenistan. The compressor, which is fully assembled on the base frame, can be driven by a steam turbine as well as a motor. It was delivered and commissioned in 1999.

Catalytic cracking plants are basic production units in a refinery. In the fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) process , heavy hydrocarbons (such as mineral oil) are converted into low-boiling hydrocarbons (such as diesel and petrol) and rendered commercially usable. The production capacity of the FCC plant has a decisive influence on the economic efficiency of the refinery.
