14.03.2003 - At the beginning of 1994, MAN Turbo received an order for the supply, installation and commissioning of a gas turbine-compressor-unit comprising a FT8-55 gas turbine and a pipeline compressor, complete with a full complement of accessories.
The compressor station is successful in operation since 1995.
MAN Turbo received a repeat order.

The FT8 gas turbine is an aeroderivative turbine which corporates the benefits of a jet engine (partnership with Pratt & Whitney) with a power turbine for mechanical drive applications.
The Werne compressor station application comprises a FT8-55 gas turbine equipped with Dry Low NOx-technology driving a RV090 centrifugal natural gas compressor.

The compressor stations in Werne is a key installation for gas distribution within Germany. In order to expand transport capacities, a gas turbine-compressor unit in the 25 MW class was required to complement the compressor plant already installed.
